How mobile scores are spread

The mobile score is Lighthouse's overall performance score, out of 100, from one lab test under simulated phone conditions.

Share of sites in each mobile score band

7,707 sites. Bar length is proportional to the share; the longest bar is the most common band.

Score bandBarShare of sites
0 to 9 0.4%
10 to 19 1.3%
20 to 29 4.2%
30 to 39 12.6%
40 to 49 15.3%
50 to 59 24.2%
60 to 69 21.3%
70 to 79 12.3%
80 to 89 4.6%
90 to 100 3.7%

Summary. The most common band is 50 to 59, holding 24.2% of the 7,707 sites. 3.7% scored 90 to 100, and 0.4% scored 0 to 9. Shares are rounded, so they may not add to exactly one hundred.

Median mobile load time against Google's threshold

LCP, Largest Contentful Paint, is the time until the largest piece of content on the first screen has appeared. It is the load-time measure the snapshot ranks.

Median mobile LCP

Bar length is proportional to time, on the same scale as every load-time chart on this page. The vertical line marks Google's 2.5 second threshold.

Google's 2.5 second threshold

Summary. Across the 7,707 sites, the median mobile LCP was 8.8 seconds in a standardized lab test, well past Google's 2.5 second threshold.

Phone against desktop, on the same sites

Each site's latest measurement records both profiles from the same run. These bars count only the sites that carry both readings, so the two shares, and the gap between them, describe one population.

Share meeting Google's 2.5 second LCP threshold in a standardized lab test

7,704 sites. Bar length is the share of those sites. Phone is the profile the snapshot ranks; desktop is shown for context.

Phone 3.2%
Desktop 71.1%

The desktop share is 67.9 percentage points higher than the phone share.

Summary. Of the 7,704 sites with a phone and a desktop reading from the same run, 3.2% met Google's 2.5 second LCP threshold on the phone profile and 71.1% on the desktop profile, a gap of 67.9 percentage points. Both are lab measurements set against the threshold Google publishes, not readings of real visits.

By trade

Median mobile LCP for each trade with at least 30 sites.

Median mobile LCP by trade

Same time scale as above. The vertical line on each bar marks Google's 2.5 second threshold.

What these figures are not

None of these figures measure search rankings, traffic, leads or sales, and none of them is Google's own Core Web Vitals assessment, which is built from real visits rather than a lab test.

How this is built

Dealer sites are found by search, confirmed as dealer websites, and measured with Google PageSpeed Insights under simulated phone and desktop conditions. The methodology covers how the cohort is assembled, what is and is not measured, and how a snapshot is compared against it.
